Davenport, IA is the largest communities in the area known as the Quad Cities. It resides in Scott County, right along the eastern border of Iowa carved out by the Mississippi River.

Two of the most popular Davenport events include the annual Bix Fest, a three-day music festival, and the Bix 7, a 7-mile race that sees more than 15,000 runners hit the Davenport streets each July. With its location on the Mississippi, Davenport is also a frequent end to RAGBRAI.

Education

The Davenport Community School District serves the communities of Blue Grass, Buffalo, Davenport, and Walcott and is the second largest school district in Iowa. Also in Davenport is a private high school called Assumption

Beyond high school, Davenport also has five colleges and universities - Palmer Chiropractic College, Saint Ambrose University, Kaplan University, Hamilton Technical College, and Scott Community College.
